What carpet cleaning involves
Carpets hold onto dust, allergens, stains and odours that vacuuming alone never reaches. We use hot-water extraction to lift the dirt from deep in the pile, treat stains and high-traffic areas, and leave carpets fresher with quick drying times.
Stain work is the part people ring us about, usually after something has already been tried on it. Wine, coffee, ink, pet accidents, and the grey traffic lane through a doorway that has stopped responding to anything. The honest position is that most of it comes out, some of it fades rather than disappears, and a small amount is dye damage rather than a stain, which means the colour has gone and no amount of cleaning brings it back. We tell you which of the three we think you have got before you commit to anything, and the photographs further down this page are our own jobs rather than stock pictures.

Every property is different, so we price each job on its size, condition and access. You get a clear, fixed quote up front with no surprises, usually within one working day.
Our minimum for this work is £120. That covers around one room of carpet, and from there you can add another room or a staircase. Give us a ring and we will tell you what your job comes to.

Common questions.
How long do carpets take to dry?
Most carpets are touch-dry within a few hours and fully dry the same day, depending on the pile and ventilation. We'll give you a few tips to speed it up.
Can you remove old stains?
Often, and the age matters less than what caused it. There are three outcomes and it is worth knowing which one you are looking at. Most spills come out properly. Some set-in marks fade a long way without vanishing, which usually looks fine in the room even if it is not perfect up close. And some are not stains at all: bleach, some medicines and a few cleaning products strip the dye out of the fibre, so the colour is gone rather than covered, and nothing will bring it back. We will tell you which one we think it is before you book rather than after.
Something has already been tried on it. Does that make it worse?
Sometimes, and it is worth mentioning when you call. Supermarket spot removers often leave a sticky residue that then attracts dirt, which is why a treated patch can end up darker than the carpet around it a few months later. That residue we can usually flush out. The bigger problem is heat: a steam cleaner or a hot iron on a protein stain, like milk, egg or blood, can set it permanently. Tell us what has been used and we will work around it.
Do you deal with pet accidents and the smell?
Yes, and the smell needs treating separately from the mark. Urine soaks through the carpet into the underlay and sometimes the floor beneath, so cleaning the surface removes the stain and leaves the odour, which comes back in warm weather. We treat it at the source. Worth being straight though: if it has gone through to the subfloor and been there a long time, replacing the underlay in that area is sometimes the honest answer.
