What move in cleaning involves

The best time to deep clean a home is the one moment it is completely empty. Once the boxes are in, the inside of the kitchen cupboards, the back of the oven, the skirting behind the bed and the grout around the bath stop getting cleaned for years. A move in clean does all of it before you unpack, so the only dirt in the place is your own.

We do move in cleans for people buying or renting a new home, and pre-tenancy cleans for landlords and letting agents getting a property ready for the next tenant. What a move in clean covers

Everything a normal clean skips because furniture is in the way. Inside every cupboard, drawer and wardrobe, so nothing goes into a space someone else used. The kitchen top to bottom, with the appliances cleaned inside and out, and the oven done properly if it needs it, which is a job of its own and the same as our oven cleaning service. Bathrooms descaled and sanitised, from the taps and shower screen to the grout and the extractor.

Then the parts nobody looks at until they are living with them: skirting boards, door frames, light switches, sockets, radiators and the inside of the windows. Floors are vacuumed and mopped throughout. If the carpets look tired, it is the ideal moment for carpet cleaning, because the rooms are empty and the carpet has time to dry before you move anything onto it.

Moving into a home you have bought

Sellers clean to very different standards, and even a tidy house has years of build-up behind the appliances and inside the units. A move in clean resets it before your own things go in, which is far easier than trying to clean around a full kitchen later.

What is the difference between a move in clean and an end of tenancy clean?

Direction. An end of tenancy clean is for the person leaving, and it is built around the check-out inventory and getting the deposit back. A move in clean is for the person arriving, or for a landlord before a new tenant, and it focuses on making an empty home genuinely clean before anyone unpacks.

When should I book a move in clean?

Between getting the keys and the removal van arriving, even if that is only a day. Give us as much notice as you can and tell us your completion or key date, and we will fit the clean into that gap.

Do I need to be there?

No. We can collect keys from the estate agent, the letting agent or a key safe, and we confirm once the property is locked back up.

Can you clean the carpets at the same time?

Yes, and an empty property is the best time to do it. Carpets and upholstery can be added to the same visit, and the rooms have time to dry before your furniture goes in.

Do you do pre-tenancy cleans for landlords and agents?

Yes. It is the same deep clean, timed to your check-in date, and it gives the check-in inventory a properly clean starting point.
