Commercial Window Cleaning in London

Commercial window cleaning across London for offices, shops, hotels and managed blocks. Pure-water poles from the ground, monthly, quarterly or one-off.

The job, explained

What commercial window cleaning involves

Commercial window cleaning is a different job from doing a house. There is more glass, more of it is high up, people are working or eating behind it, and whoever manages the building wants paperwork before anyone turns up. We clean windows for offices, shopfronts, restaurants, hotels and managed residential blocks across London, on a cycle that suits the building.

Most outside glass is cleaned from the ground with a pure-water pole. The water is filtered until there is nothing left in it to dry as spots or streaks, and because the person cleaning stays on the ground, there are no ladders against your frontage and nobody working at height over your customers or residents. Frames, sills and signage are washed on the same pass, and inside glass, partitions and entrance doors can go on the same visit.

What's included

  • Exterior glass cleaned streak-free with pure water
  • Frames, sills and ledges washed down
  • Upper floors reached from the ground by water-fed pole
  • Shopfronts, entrance doors and signage
  • Inside glass and partitions on request
  • Monthly, quarterly or one-off visits
  • Early, late and weekend visits to suit the building
  • Method statement and £5m insurance certificate before the first visit

Who we clean windows for

Shops, restaurants and cafes, where the front window is the first thing a customer judges you on and traffic film builds up fastest. Offices and workplaces, where the glass is usually higher and the visit has to work around people at their desks. Hotels, where guest-facing glass and entrances need doing before the day starts.

Managing agents and block managers are a big part of it too: communal windows, stairwells, entrance lobbies and the glass residents see every day, cleaned on a set cycle, not when somebody complains. We also clean for clinics and surgeries around their opening hours. If you look after several buildings, one contractor for all of them is simpler, and the commercial cleaning page explains how we work with managed property.

How often commercial windows need cleaning

It depends on where the glass is, not on a rule. Ground-floor shopfronts on a busy road pick up traffic film quickly, so monthly is common and some restaurants go more often. Upper-floor office glass away from the road usually looks fine on a quarterly cycle. Buildings next to trees, building sites or bus routes sit somewhere in between.

We suggest a frequency when we see the building, then adjust it once we know how quickly your glass actually gets dirty. You are not tied into anything: a visit every month, every quarter or a single clean before an inspection or a viewing are all fine.

Paperwork, insurance and access

Before the first visit you get a risk assessment and method statement for the site, along with our £5 million public liability certificate. We can work early in the morning, in the evening or at the weekend, which keeps us out of the way of your customers and staff, and we keep water and kit clear of entrances while we work.

Working from the ground is also the safer way to do it. The Work at Height Regulations 2005 put avoiding work at height first, and a water-fed pole is what lets most commercial glass be cleaned without ladders or access equipment at all. Where a pane is beyond safe reach from the ground, we tell you at the survey and quote only for what we can do properly.

Do the whole outside in one visit

Windows are the last thing you clean outside, not the first. Gutters and fascias drip down the walls when they are cleared, and washing the walls throws dirt onto the glass, so the order is gutters, walls, then windows. Booking them separately is how the windows end up being cleaned twice.

If the building also needs gutter clearing, cladding cleaning or graffiti removal, we sequence it all in one go and price it as one job. After a fit-out or a refurb, we also lift the paint specks, plaster splash and sticker residue that builders leave on new glass, usually alongside an after builders clean.

Good to know

Common questions.

How often should commercial windows be cleaned?

As a guide, shopfronts and restaurants on a main road monthly, and office glass away from the road quarterly. The right answer depends on traffic, trees and nearby building work, so we suggest a cycle when we see the building and adjust it once we know how quickly your glass gets dirty.

Do you clean the inside of the windows too?

Yes. Inside glass, internal partitions and entrance doors can all go on the same visit. Let us know when you book so we can allow the time and plan around the people working inside.

Can you clean outside our opening hours?

Yes. Early mornings, evenings and weekends are normal for shops, restaurants and offices, and it is usually what we suggest anywhere with customers coming and going.

Do you provide a method statement and insurance documents?

Yes. You get a risk assessment and method statement for the site and our £5 million public liability certificate before the first visit, so your building manager or facilities team has everything on file.

How high can you reach?

Most of the buildings we look after are cleaned entirely from the ground with a water-fed pole, which comfortably clears a shopfront or a low-rise block. If any glass on your building is beyond safe reach from the ground, we say so when we look at it and only quote for what we can do properly, so there are no surprises on the day.

Can you remove paint and plaster splashes after building work?

Yes, it is one of the most common requests after a fit-out. We soften and lift paint specks, plaster splash and sticker residue carefully, so the glass comes up clear without scratches. It often goes alongside an after builders clean.

Do you still clean windows on houses?

We no longer run domestic window rounds. Our window cleaning is for offices, shops, hospitality and managed residential blocks. For homes, we still do solar panel cleaning, gutter clearing and soft washing.
